Kindness

During this podcast Pam talks about mindful parenting. She says to be kind. Your actions matter. How you make people feel matters. Our kids mirror everything they see us do. If you give generously, your children will grow up and be generous people.

OPENING PRAYER: "A Prayer for Quiet" by Richard Foster

I have, O Lord, a noisy heart. And entering outward silence doesn't stop the inner clamor. In fact, it seems only to make it worse. When I am full of activity, the internal noise is only a distant rumble; but when I get still, the rumble amplifies itself. And it is not like the majestic sound of symphony rising to a grand crescendo; rather it is the deafening din of clashing pots and clanging pans. What a racket! Worst of all, I feel helpless to hush the interior pandemonium

Dear Lord, once you spoke peace to the wind and the wave. Speak your shalom over my heart. I wait silently...patiently. I receive into the very core of my being your loving command, "Peace, be still." Amen.

QUOTES FROM PODCAST:

“But grace can be the experience of a second wind, when even though what you want is clarity and resolution, what you get is stamina and poignancy and the strength to hold on.” - Anne lamott

“Love each other deeply! When I was in high school I hit a little bump in the road that left me sad for far too long. These quotes saved me because they guided me back to myself again.

I remember unfolding a quote between my fingers in math class, quickly peeking at the words, then tucking it in my pocket again. I carried it with me the whole day.  And every day after that the quote i picked was a reminder of strength, a mantra, an encouragement. Quietly, and almost without me even realizing, the words of wisdom brought me right back to everything I had known but somehow forgotten. But a  better version of me, more joyful & wise.

Love deeply, let’s share this gift.” - Meredith C. Robertson

JARS OF JOY QUOTES FROM PODCAST:

“The slower you go the more poems you’ll see” - Dallas Clayton

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.” - Melody Beattie

“and I am never
surprised
that when I look for miracles
I find them.” - Allison Malee

“With this next breath, let it go, that old story you’ve told yourself a million times.Whatver doesn’t serve you on this path of truth, leave it behind.” - Danna Faulds
